Staffarda Abbey
The Abbey of Santa Maria di Staffarda in Revello, in the province of Cuneo, is one of the most fascinating and important medieval monasteries in Piedmont. Its foundation dates back to the period between 1122 and 1138. It is in this era that, in the peace of the plain facing Monviso, the original nucleus of the Abbey was born on the territory of the ancient Marchesato di Saluzzo.
With a papal bull issued by Pope Benedict XIV in 1750, Staffarda became part of the heritage of the Mauritian Order of Turin, which still preserves its timeless charm today.
